An installation of 84 hand-sewn, community-made quilts designed by Makwa Studio textile artist Maggie Thompson that served as a platform for Emily Johnson/Catalyst’ performance of Then a Cunning Voice and A Night We Spend Gazing at Stars. We'll take the quilts outside, light a fire, and gather around the stories and poems of Sahar Muradi, Hadrien Coumans, Georgia Lucas, Clarinda Mac Low, and Tim Carrier.

Newtown Literary is a semi-annual literary journal published in electronic and paper formats. It is dedicated to writers from and writing about Queens, NY and dedicates the journal to these writers and their work. Newtown Literary partners with Queens Library for an afternoon of poetry. Poets: Rosebud Ben-Oni, Ricardo Hernandez, Esther Lin, Sahar Muradi, and Luba Ostashevsky.

A night of live poetry that explores (un)documented immigration, migration, home, exile, and what it means to be(come) American. Poems written by the poets of Kundiman, which is dedicated to the creation, cultivation, and promotion of Asian American literature. Poems by: Janine Joseph, Sahar Muradi, Chialun Chang, Sokunthary Svay, Vikas Menton, Julia Munslow, Hieu Huynh, Rachel Ansong, Samina Hadi-Tabassum, Ansley Moon, and Marina Blitshteyn. Performed by a cast of actors from film, television, and stage.
